Dec 13,  · If you missed Screaming For Change the first time you can experience the passion that made U.C. a vital hardcore band next January. This was the band’s only hardcore album before they released Staring Into The Sun which sounded more like early alternative.

Jan 29,  · Time kept moving forward, and in the flood of new shit that I purchased, there were some albums that I just couldn't get to before the new year. When I was picking up the new Magic Circle album at 20 Buck Spin, I was looking for one more record to add to my cart and I saw the Ranger LP sitting there. Seemed like the time was right to finally.

Hailing from Orange County, CA, the band released this album in , then disbanded, reuniting in to release “Staring Into the Sun”, a wrenched hairspray metal album. They mercifully folded shortly after that, and we would do well to remember them in their initial glory. 1. Use Your Head 2. My Own Mind 3. Straight And Alert 4.

The song Region of Ice comes from the (kind of) controversial second album "Staring Into The Sun" put out on Giant Records, the same label that put out some cool albums by Verbal Assault, Government Issue and the Dag Nasty - "Field Day" record. I just think it is a great song.

Oct 31,  · Later Uniform Choice experimented with their sound and their second album Staring Into The Sun from is less furious hardcore and more melodic with more emotional and introspective lyrics. I like that album too, maybe the production is kind of weird but the songs are still OK for what they are.

Joking aside this truly forgotten band doesn't really sound anything like NA but is more styled after Uniform Choice, with a sound drawing on the speed of Screaming of Change and the melodic (some would say whiny) vocals from Staring into the Sun. It's more on the boy scout side of the Youth Crew fence so isn't exactly a top drawer obscurity.
